A LITTLE MUD NEVER HURT ANYONE: 2014 TOUGH MUDDER 

JUNE 2014

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test all-around strength, stamina, teamwork, and mental grit.  Wiith obstacles having names such as Pole DancerFire in Your Hole, or Ladder to Hell, the Tough Mudder was a challenge that appealed to the most dauntless of our Counterpointe staff members.  On a sunny June day, the small but determined Counterpointe team headed to Doswell, VA to join over 10,000 other participants who accepted the challenge.  At around noon, they set off to conquer the 34 obstacles.  After a grueling 3.5 hours working as a team and helping each other through holes and high water, the Counterpointe Mudders completed their mission and crossed Finish Line together.

Counterpointe is proud to have made a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that Tough Mudder supports and promotes.

APNs are professional services firms that help customers of all sizes design, architect, build, migrate, and manage their workloads and applications on AWS. Consulting Partners include System Integrators (SIs), Strategic Consultancies, Agencies, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and Value-Added Resellers (VARs).

VIENNA, VA.  JULY 2, 2012

Counterpointe Solutions, Inc., an SBA 8(a)-certified company, is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 appraisal, and is therefore now recognized as a CMMI Level 3 company by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI).

The independent appraisal was conducted in mid-June 2012, with the intent of thoroughly examining and validating Counterpointe’s corporate processes to prove compliance with CMMI Level 3 goals and practices.  During the appraisal, Counterpointe successfully demonstrated the company’s commitment to developing and following standard, defined, and documented processes by performing a comprehensive review of organizational and project artifacts, and conducting interviews held with project teams as well as senior management.The company has made a considerable investment into achieving this endeavor, and the CMMI Level 3 certification reflects Counterpointe’s dedication to encouraging a culture of quality and excellence in process areas that include: Project Planning, Integrated Project Management, Project Management and Control, Requirements Management, Risk Management, Process and Product Quality Assurance, Configuration Management, and Technical Solution.  In total, the appraisal team reviewed 907 practices and rated 90 goals for this effort.“

As an industry-recognized standard of quality, our new CMMI Level 3 rating is a significant accomplishment for Counterpointe, as we are now part of a select tier of software and information technology firms who have achieved this certification,” states Alvin Chun, Counterpointe President.  “This differentiation opens doors for our company by allowing us to compete for and successfully deliver solutions for the government as well as the private sector.  This accomplishment enables us to continue to become a preferred provider and partner for quality software and information technology solutions.”

INTEGRATED WORKPLACE MANAGEMENT AND UNIVERSAL PRODUCT CODES

Counterpointe has recently secured two new contracts with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and we are proud and happy to add NRC as a new client.With the former, we will be implementing ARCHIBUS as an IWMS to manage the NRC’s many facilities.  With the latter, we will be providing transition support as the USDA makes a bold move to EBT with its UPC systems.

COUNTERPOINTE WINS SIX FEDERAL CONTRACTS 

SEPTEMBER 2010

Counterpointe is pleased to announce that it will experience record growth after being awarded six Federal awards in the month of September.

Most of the work is coming from the Internal Revenue Service, which has awarded:

  • A 2-year contract to provide administrative services support for the Graphic Database Interface (GDI) system, which includes preparing investment portfolio strategies and initiative proposals, developing business requirements for system support, developing sustainable training program materials and obtaining support for project initiatives.
  • A 5-year contract from the Internal Revenue Service to provide Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) Support Services. The support for this contract includes CAFM Database Management, AutoCAD Drawing Management and Electronic Document Management.

  •  2-year purchase order from the Internal Revenue Service for technical services to retire the Web-based Electronic Project Investment Process (ePIP) system and incorporate its functional capabilities into the GDI System. Our objective is to examine existing work product to determine the status of software functionality, perform system testing, facilitate user acceptance testing, and provide implementation and production cutover support.

  • A 1-year purchase order from the Internal Revenue Service to provide technical services to complete work to retire the web-based Foundation Information for Real Property Management (FIRMWeb) system and incorporate its functionality into the GDI System. Our objective is to analyze existing work products, determine the status of software functionality, and provide implementation and production cutover support.

  • A 2-year purchase order from the Internal Revenue Service to continue deployment of the GDI System.  Our objectives are to expand the use of the system to include other space related processes and data supporting non-space related processes, increasing access by making the system available to Shared Services partners, the CFO, and select Business Unit customers; and retiring existing REFM single purpose legacy systems and tools.

The company has also received an award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture – a 4-year contract from Food and Nutrition Services to continue Operations and Maintenance for the ME Tool. The primary objectives for this contract are to provide quarterly releases for updates to the system, help desk support and incorporation of new programs into the system.
